		<title>Kurti top to fit</title>

<p>Let me explain to you what it looked like (this would have been easier if I took a before photo). So the salwar looks like this, in shape. Please excuse my poor paint skillz. </p>

<p>Anyway, I like my salwars to be more straight, rather than triangular; like these. See the difference?</p>

<p>The rip occurred right above where the slit joins (where the triangle connects with the top part). To fix it, I cut where the rip occurred. Luckily it was the ideal length for a <a href="http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&amp;rlz=1C1CHMI_enUS346US347&amp;um=1&amp;sa=1&amp;q=kurti&amp;aq=f&amp;oq=&amp;aqi=g6g-s1g2g-s1&amp;start=0&amp;social=false" target="_blank">kurti top</a>. But because it lost the weight of the extra fabric it was unflattering (when before it fit just fine). Why do I think projects like these would be easy? <img src='http://ash.anjori.info/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>To fix the shape, I tore open the seams on either side. I used a top I had already (that fit well) as a pattern and re-sewed the sides. Then I finished the edges to give it a professional look. I like the results, especially since this was my first (real) sewing project. I don’t count hems as a real project. </p>
